Let’s start with a quick trip down memory lane… How did your journey at Mutt Data Begin?

My journey began in full swing less than a year ago. Since day one, I have jumped into various assignments for external clients, enhancing their data applications and workflows. Additionally, I have worked on internal projects that contribute to the future of Mutt, its products, and growth.Overall, it has been a thrilling experience so far.

Currently, I am working with a new client from the retail industry, diving into the discovery process and planning the subsequent implementation. I am leading conversations with the client and the work team within Mutt, and I am also supporting the leadership of two internal initiatives that will improve the management experience in the operations team.

What Was It About Mutt Data That Made You Take The Job?

Many reasons come to mind, but three were decisive for me:

  • The chance to work for an international company.
  • Fully remote work culture.
  • The chance to work in a company that loves what it does and where learning is a part of its DNA.

It’s been the perfect fit for me because almost an year in im still constantly expanding my data knowledge and gaining experience every day.

What Is Your Go-to Resource For Staying Up To Date with The Tech Industry?

To stay up to date, I like to participate in various groups, attend webinars, and read articles from both companies and academia. I also refer to the official documentation and websites of the biggest names in the industry. Most recently I’ve been following:

What do you enjoy most about your role? What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced yet?

I am a Data Tech Lead at Mutt. What I enjoy the most is helping to highlight the qualities of the people who work with me so that they can understand themselves and grow both professionally and personally. Undoubtedly, my biggest challenge, which continues to be a daily learning experience, is getting to know myself, recognizing that I can improve and continue to move forward.

What does it take to beat those challenges? How do you do it?

Passion, motivation, and discipline are very important. But undoubtedly, it is about discovering that what you do has a purpose.

What would you say makes Mutt Data a great place to work?

For me, it's all about finding the balance between learning and application. It's not just about absorbing new information; it's about taking that knowledge and putting it into action to drive real-life results. One of the best parts of my job is having the opportunity to actively shape the company's direction. Mutt Data is an incredibly collaborative environment, which makes it even more fulfilling.

What keeps you excited to come to work?

Easy! Learning and getting to work on different things every day.

What would you tell someone thinking about entering the world of tech startups?

If someone is considering working in a tech startup, I would advise them to approach it like working on a blank canvas. You start with an idea, but as you add different elements, it can transform into something entirely new and exciting. It's a unique opportunity to combine pre-existing concepts with your own creativity.

Working in a tech startup requires a mindset of trial and error. You need to be willing to try new things, fail, and then pivot and try again. While things don't always go as planned, there are "a-ha!" moments when everything comes together to make up for it.

What would you say to #DataNerds thinking about working at Mutt Data? Any advice for applicants?

At Mutt Data, we value openness and collaboration. Our philosophy is simple: to be a market leader and be known for our excellent work, we need to listen because the best ideas can come from anyone. Additionally, the human quality of Mutters is incredible; there will always be someone willing to help.

If you're thinking about applying, my advice is simple: don't panic! There may be certain requirements in the job description that you're not 100% confident with, but what really matters is your enthusiasm to learn and your willingness to contribute and go the extra mile.

Wrapping Up!
